This is a first for me! My client wanted a wide solid boarder around his painting, flush to the edges, and with no lip coming over the edge of the painting, also the same thickness as the 1/2″ canvas. I might have just used 1/2″ wood but opted for Gator Board instead just to make it lighter, being that it was over 70″ long.
My client purchased some bright orange faux leather upholstery to wrap the frame. It worked out quite well and produced a rather unique look to be sure..
